This is very disappointing to me, this site is less than a mile away from my home, I will go an extra 5-10 miles before I rent from Avis again, I have also removed Avis for my corporate use.
Received excellent service from the agents (Caston and Carl) -- friendly, knowledgable, prompt, and ready to assist with all requests and questions. Could not have hoped for a better rental experience.
When I returned the car on 5/9, Immediately Nissa took the keys from my hand and went to check the car. I was informed by my brother who was in the car waiting for me that she did a full investigation of the car (out of the norm in which I have experienced when returning a car for business use) flipping back seats and looking on the floor. I am not sure what she thought she would find, but as she was doing so, I voiced my concerns to the manager who explained that the questioning and the viewing of my credit card was a required procedure. I told him that it might be procedure but the tone and communication method used was unprofessional and I felt as if I was treated unfairly. As Nissa never returned back to the desk for the check off for the car, the manager went out and returned with the keys and said, “the car smells like baby powder, which can indicate that someone had been smoking. I told him it is not baby powder, it was scented car spray. I did not explain to him nor did I not feel the need to go into detail that, we had kids in the car and we had eaten in the car and the car smelled of food, so I clean it up a bit before I returned it so that I would not incur any additional charges. With that last remark, I told him that I would not be returning and I would be using a rental company that provides better customer service and customer experience.
Should be more upfront on insurance cost which is almost cost of vehicle for a day. Also car didn't even have cruise
I wanted to reach out to Avis Corporate and share my experience with renting a car from your company at the West Allis, WI location. I am a professional trained in Diversity and Inclusion and intercultural studies. I have never experienced a hostile place of business before and your company presented that to on. I pick the car up last Thursday. I had order the car through Hotwire and had never had any issue with this method of ordering. When I walked into the service center, the rep. Nissa helped me, but began to ask many different questions (i.e. where I was going, who would be the riders and a couple of other questions) I understand that there are some questions that are just standard but the tone and the disposition of Nissa was a bit disturbing to me as a consumer. I explained that I was sick and that my patience was very thin and I apologized for my own tone, but I felt as if I was being pre-judged or stereotyped as I walked in the door.
